A rugged, 4-wheel drive 2009 Chevrolet Suburban
has been placed in service at the Memorial
Volunteer Fire Company in Slaughter Beach,
Delaware.
Many of the components were existing,
customer-supplied items that were installed by
DPC. This included the radios, battery
charger, and rear command module.
The custom fabricated center console made from
1/8" 5052 aluminum houses a Motorola radio, Code
3 electronic siren, TST Touch Tex 10 switch
panel, (2) cup holders, and (2) 12-volt outlets.
A Panasonic Toughbook notebook computer is
mounted adjacent to the center console.
The customer-supplied rear command module was
remounted atop a new storage unit unit mounted
in the rear cargo area. This includes a
large Slide Master slide-out tray that houses
not only the primary module, but also (2) hand
lights, (2) mobile radios, (2) portable radio
chargers, various hand tools, an SCBA, (2) fire
extinguishers, and a thermal imaging camera
w/charger. The area underneath the module
also features a lengthy slide-out tray on the
left side and additional storage area on the
right.
A variety of Predator LED lights by SoundOff
Signal were installed throughout the vehicle.
This includes (2) clear LED lights that were
mounted underneath the rear hatch to illuminate
the command area. Situated on the roof is
a Federal Signal Arjent SL LED lightbar.
Embedded into the bottom of the rear hatch are
(6) LED lightheads that are directed at oncoming
traffic when the hatch is in the open position.
