Slaughter Beach, DE - Command 89

Vehicle Description:

A rugged, 4-wheel drive 2009 Chevrolet Suburban has been placed in service at the Memorial Volunteer Fire Company in Slaughter Beach, Delaware.

Many of the components were existing, customer-supplied items that were installed by DPC.  This included the radios, battery charger, and rear command module.    The custom fabricated center console made from 1/8" 5052 aluminum houses a Motorola radio, Code 3 electronic siren, TST Touch Tex 10 switch panel, (2) cup holders, and (2) 12-volt outlets.  A Panasonic Toughbook notebook computer is mounted adjacent to the center console.

The customer-supplied rear command module was remounted atop a new storage unit unit mounted in the rear cargo area.  This includes a large Slide Master slide-out tray that houses not only the primary module, but also (2) hand lights, (2) mobile radios, (2) portable radio chargers, various hand tools, an SCBA, (2) fire extinguishers, and a thermal imaging camera w/charger.  The area underneath the module also features a lengthy slide-out tray on the left side and additional storage area on the right.

A variety of Predator LED lights by SoundOff Signal were installed throughout the vehicle.  This includes (2) clear LED lights that were mounted underneath the rear hatch to illuminate the command area.  Situated on the roof is a Federal Signal Arjent SL LED lightbar.  Embedded into the bottom of the rear hatch are (6) LED lightheads that are directed at oncoming traffic when the hatch is in the open position.
