In upper New Castle County, the Brandywine
Hundred Fire Company operates a 2009 Ford F-550
as Brush 11. The body was manufactured by
Rosenbauer and is constructed of 1/8" formed
aluminum and features ROM rollup doors.
Upon completion and mounting on the
customer-supplied chassis, the vehicle was
shipped to DPC Emergency Equipment where the
upfit was completed.
Suppression capability is provided a Hale HP200
pump and a Scotty Around the Pump Foam System.
They are supplied by a 200-gallon water tank and
10-gallon foam tank which feed mulitple
discharges including a Hannay hose reel with
200' of 3/4" hose. The area underneath the
pump features storage for hand tools.
A grill guard was installed on the front of the
chassis for protection. A receiver hitch
and electrical connection for a portable winch
are found on both the front and rear bumpers.
Step bars were installed to aide in the egress
from the cab and stainless steel wheel
simulators were installed to enhance the
vehicle's appearance.
All body compartments were sprayed with gray
LINE-X and include multiple shelves for
equipment storage. A pair of FRC 150-watt
HID, 12-volt quartz lights are mounted atop of
the rear of the body on each side. The
warning light package consists of all Whelen LED
lights, including a Liberty LED lightbar.
A custom-fabricated center console is located in
the cab and was sprayed with black LINE-X for
durability. Aside from housing a mobile
radio and switch panel, it also includes a
Powercall DX5100 electronic siren and storage
area for maps and binders.
